Three elderly sisters have escaped a nursing home. They have settled near the state border in a henhouse where they can enjoy their privacy, keep themselves occupied with various activities and drink egg tea. Elsewhere, they tend to get into trouble because people cannot accept the fact that sister Elizabeth is visible only to the other two sisters.
Enters Paul from the nursing home. His task is to persuade the sisters to come back. Then comes another guest – Signor Hansen, the official inhabitant of the henhouse – a man with wondrous abilities. He sees Elizabeth; gets phone calls from Charlie Chaplin; and says he’s been so deeply immersed in music that he ended up inside a trumpet. He usually takes his naps in the tuba because Elvis Presley is occupying the saxophone. It seems there’s no limit to Hansen’s capabilities when his affection towards Elizabeth makes the third sister visible to everyone, allowing them all to vanish together.
