Spy Girls to perform at Fokus Ukraine – Europäisches Theaterfestival 777 TAGE ДНІВ DAYS

The production Spy Girls (director Magda Szpecht) by the Estonian performing arts centre Vaba Lava is travelling to Düsseldorf to perform at the international festival Fokus Ukraine – Europäisches Theaterfestival 777 TAGE ДНІВ DAYS on April 11th, 2024.
As the festival is dedicated to Ukraine, its name also refers to the fact that on April 11th, 777 days will have passed from the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
The story of Spy Girls begins on the day the dating app Tinder stops working in Russia. Three cyber-activists from Ukraine and Estonia exploit the situation of the Russian soldiers in occupied territories. They use fake profiles to discover the motives and personal stories of the enemy – but most of all to identify military targets and positions.
The production is a combination of investigative journalism, cyber-activism and performance art.
