Latvian colleagues made a peer-learning trip to Tallinn

Last week, on January 18th and 19th, 2024 the theatre adviser of the Latvian Ministry of Culture Andra Rutkēviča, the statistics adviser of the Latvian Ministry of Culture Ieva Maurāne, producer of Ģertrūdes ielas teātrīs Maija Pavlova, director of Dirty Deal Teatro Anna Sīle, and associate professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture Zane Kreicberga paid a professional visit to Tallinn.
The main focus of the visit was on the Estonian theatre statistics collection and implementation model. Additionally, the Latvian theatre managers and officials were given a comprehensive overview of the overall functioning of the Estonian theatre system, including funding, collective agreements, future plans, and much more.
During the two days, there were meetings with the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, the Estonian Theatre Union, the Estonian Association of Performing Arts Institutions, Kanuti Gildi SAAL, and the Estonian Theatre Agency.
The days full of meaningful meetings were rounded off with a performance of "Trip to the End of the Forest" (directed by Lauri Lagle) at the Ekspeditsioon.
The visit of the Latvian colleagues was organized by Liisi Aibel, international relations coordinator of the Estonian Theatre Agency.
