Pargi 40, 41537 Jõhvi

Theatre Tuuleveski (Windmill) was founded in spring 1988 as Kohtla-Järve theatre for young audiences. In 1993 theatre workers changed it into a NGO that is supported by Jõhvi municipality and Ministry of Culture of Estonia. The first troupe members were professional actors from St. Petersburg, Riga and Arkhangelsk. Tuuleveski tours around Estonian towns every year, and they have also been performing in Germany, Russia, Latvia, Denmark, Indonesia, Thailand, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan and Poland. The theatre gives charity performances for orphanages, to children with physical disabilities and children from low income families or families having many children. Tuuleveski is also active in organising children party shows.
