The married couple Lebrun have just moved into a new flat in a posh area of the town. However, one morning there is abusive graffiti on the elevator wall about them. Who has done that and why?
Strange coincidences complicate establishing relations with neighbours; the conversations oscillate between extreme politeness and hypocrisy, making a fuss and making a speech, clarity of thought and unsubtle provocations...
Graffiti is a topical social satire that examines man's defenceless and helpless state in a situation where an anonymous insult in a public space begins to determine his fate. For example the Internet comments, often regarded as virtual walls of a toilet, or other type of cyber harassment (putting up demeaning photographs and video clips on websites etc.). Should anyone dare to oppose the consensus of the surrounding stupidity, as does the protagonist of this story, he becomes the enemy of the people.
The premiere took place on 11 January 2004 in the Parisian theatre Le Petit-Montparnasse, and the production was nominated in three categories at the 2004 Moliére theatre award ceremony (best French original, best author, best supporting role).
Planned premiere on 29 November 2008 in the small hall at Ugala theatre.
