The non-profit association Estonian Union of Dance Art and Dance Education is an artistic association consisting of dance teachers, choreographers, dancers and other professionals in the field of dance. The Union contributes to the development of the art of dance and dance education, as well as supporting and representing those active in the sector.

The Estonian Union of Dance Art and Dance Education was established in 2016, when two unions merged into a single umbrella organisation for dance. In 1996-2015, Estonian dance teachers were represented by the Estonian Dance Education Union (called the Estonian Dance Teachers’ Union in 1996-2011) and dance artists were represented by the Estonian Dance Artists’ Union in 2002-2015. The Estonian Union of Dance Art and Dance Education is an artistic association recognised by the Ministry of Culture since April 2012.

Through its activities, the Union creates opportunities and a more favourable environment for quality dance art and dance education, which is available to everyone in Estonia. The mission is promotion and development of professionalism and quality in dance by representing the interests of the Union’s members.

All members can contribute to the development of the Union and the dance field in general by joining our working groups: Copyright and salary rates working group, Publishing working group, Kedja network working group and monthly dance newsletter TantsuKuukiri working group.
