Basically there are two ways of approaching the theme - one is telling the genius existential vendetta story and another one - searching for the connections of 400 years old masterpiece with today' realities. The second way usually can be labeled as postmodernist.
The "HAMLETS" deals mostly with the second way. The main objective of the work is focused on variety of "realities" for the protagonist. Actually only very few parts of original text will remain in the piece. At the same time the famous prince' monologue will be repeated and presented in numerous ways.
Modern man as a constructor and captive of his own models will be examined in the project.
Another aim of the project is research of audio and visual theatrical means, which will reflect the basic situation of Hamlet as an icon. Interactive tools, computing and programming will be used to build multi dimensional space and time of the piece.
The project consists of researche (January-August 2006), rehearsal period (September 2006) and public performances, starting from October 2006.
