"Dovin, Doven, Dovli ..." is a significant dance performance dedicated to the Georgian choreographer, modern ballet leader and teacher Giorgi Aleksidze (1941-2008), created by his daughter Mariam Aleksidze. Mariam got the idea of the performance, which consists of creating a choreography for a (poetry) text as a sonically and essentially meaningful initial impulse, from her father. Together with the director Gela Kandelaki, she selected the poems of the well-known Georgian poet Galaktion Tabidze, which symbolically convey Giorgi Aleksidze's thoughts and life path. At the end of the performance, a miniature performed by Mariam herself, directed for her by her father, will be shown.

Giorgi Aleksidze was the chief ballet master and artistic director of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater since 1972. In Georgian ballet, his name is associated with aesthetic changes and innovations: creating productions with more complex choreography, different coordination and aesthetics, and the use of music, which had been avoided in ballet before. "I'm guided by music, which is everything for me," he said.

Giorgi Aleksidze collaborated with renowned artists such as Mikhail Baryshnikov, Natalya Makarova, Giya Kancheli, Sofia Gabaidullina, Sergei Paradzhanov, etc. In 1998, he was awarded the State Prize of Georgia. He was also a Georgian People's Artist and Knight of the Order of Merit, and he was posthumously awarded the Presidential Order of Excellence in 2021 for his unique services to the country and outstanding contribution to Georgian choreography in the development of neoclassical and modern ballet.

Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet was created in 2016, and its repertoire mainly consists of contemporary one-act productions by Mariam Aleksidze. The choreographer believes that the troupe's artistic image will not develop if they do not have their own original and unique productions. Mariam Aleksidze and Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet have made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of contemporary choreography and dance in Georgia. The Company Director is David Maziashvili, the Professor of Tbilisi State University.
