The uprising begins as a walk. Against traffic regulations, during working hours. The street belongs to pedestrians. Here and there a car is turned over. My place, if my drama were still taking place, would be on both sides of the front, between the front lines, farther away from them.
"I stand in the sweaty, reeking mass of people and throw stones at policemen, soldiers, tanks, at bulletproof glass. I look through machine-gun-proof double glass doors at the advancing crowd and feel the sweat of my own fear. Suffocated by nausea, I shake my fist at myself. My roles are spitting and the spittoon, knife and wound, tooth and throat, neck and rope. I am a databank. I am not Hamlet."
Heiner Müller, Hamletmachine
"Feedback" speaks about the possibility and impossibility of protest in our minds and on the streets. The production continues the search of the Von Krahl troupe for ways to create performances that unite the poetic and the political, the personal and the social. The performance is created collectively by the troupe.
The performance on September 8th is with English subtitles.
