Dance Marathon

lavastus-pic

Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava and the Estonian Disability Union Association invites you to dance for equal mobility!

On December 28th, for the third time, an entertaining and charitable 12-hour Dance Marathon will take place at Telliskivi Creative City, inviting you to dance for a common good.

The purpose of the dance marathon is to celebrate the culture of movement, while paying attention to those in need and those in a weaker position in society. With this event we want to raise awareness of movement and dance, emphasizing that people of any physical form and preparation are equal and involved on the dance floor.

There are several ways to participate:

participate as a competitor
come to cheer and dance along
support with donation

The 12 hours marathon is divided by different dance styles and tasks, where each hour the participants will have different creative tests on the dance floor and can challenge themselves with different dance styles, forms and movements.

The marathon is directed by choreographer Teet Kask.
The judges are Raho Aadla, theater teacher and choreographer, Dmitri Teras as a dance professional and Janne Kuuskla and Urmas Laigna, folk dance instructors, who evaluate the creativity and diversity of the participants.

The dance endurance test lasts 12h, from noon to midnight, where every hour the music is played by different DJ and the day is hosted by Kristel Aaslaid, who are also responsible for encouraging the contestants.
The judges will award different prizes throughout the event.
Twelve hours of runners-up will determine the overall winner of the marathon in the last hour, who will receive a cash prize.

Supported by: Telliskivi Creative City, Cultural Endowment, Valgeallikas, Bambona, Tallinn TV Tower, Printwise, TV Tower Restaurant, Ampstükk, Froosh and others.

Marathon partners: Estonian Brake Dance Association, Estonian Folk Dance and Folk Music Society.
