In Charlotte Engelkes' new production a number of shorter dramatic works are united in the form of a song-cycle. With the song-cycles by Schubert as a platform Engelkes creates a new landscape in space for them, and a new meaning.
The place is a mill in the universe. A female miller, suffering from a gluten allergy, struggles to survive in a threatening working environment. Then the world of Schubert - happy trouts, troubled nuns, philosophizing crows and persistent hurdygurdy players - gushes into her conscious, in tableau-like memories. She has to cope with nature that wants to unite with her body, and her soul, which demands an explanation of itself.
