The direction based upon the legends from Aesop`s life was born through continuous improvisations with actors which required actors to be constantly ready to change their character even after the first premiere. The direction had three premieres, after each one the reaction of audience was taken into account and new rehearsals were done on the material. Erki Aule, director: "to make a production where you have to create dialogoues and dramaturgy from the air is much more difficult than to direct a text previously ready and written by someone, at the same time it is a challenge to the whole company and I think our theatre is at the moment the only one in Estonia directing this way."

The life story of Aesop has reached us in the form of legends about his life. The material has been translated from Russian as it does not exist in Estonian. Aesop was an ugly and illiterate slave but so wise and witty that he was let free by his master. His fables have lived up to present times, written down by other people. Many people know his famous fables, let it be about the fox and the grapes or the crow and the cheese. This direction combines the life-legends of Aesop and some of his fables. Although his own life was hard and ugly, he amused about it and could share wit and fun. Also this direction sets its aim us to provide fun and spirit of Aesop, to create a pattern of legends and fables, of laugh and cleverness.

The production uses national music and sounds from Greek.
