Vaino Vahing

15.02.1940 - 23.03.2008

Vaino Vahing was a psychiatrist, playwright and prosaist. He was a member of both the Estonian Writers ' Union and the Estonian Theatre Union. Since he was a psychiatrist, many of his works were written through this perspective, and he was influenced by the theories and ideas of many psychoanalysts. Playfulness was important to him, and he was also fascinated by despair and making sense of the human experience. Having started writing at a fairly late age, he has also described writing as a means of making sense of his own life.
