Katariina Libe

Photo Erlend Staub.

Katariina Libe is a writer and editor whose work explores human relationships, motherhood, and the challenges of family life. She began her career as an actress but soon realised the stage wasn’t her true calling – finding the spotlight exhausting and limiting. Writing offered her a natural voice and space to explore themes that move her. She holds a master’s degree in contemporary media from the Baltic Film, Media and Arts School (BFM) and works for a family magazine.

Her debut novel, Autumn of Sacrifices (Ohverduste sügis), recognised at an Estonian novel competition, examines the crossroads of choice and sacrifice in family life. Drawing on personal experience, her professional environment, and critical social issues, Libe’s writing is heartfelt, empathetic, and often gently humorous – a quiet but precise guide to life’s most vulnerable moments.
