Andra Teede is a poet, prose writer, playwright, and screenwriter. She debuted in 2006 with the poetry collection A Taxi in the Tallinn Sky (Taksoga Tallinna taevas), and has since published nine poetry collections.

She is widely known as one of the screenwriters who has contributed to the beloved Estonian TV series Happiness 13 (Õnne 13) over many years. Her greatest acclaim has come through playwriting, especially works that portray everyday Estonian life and the emotional entanglements of ordinary people. In 2023, she published her first novel, Kateriin and
the Evil Uncles (Kateriin ja kurjad onud), blending auto-biographical elements with fiction. Teede’s voice is marked by emotional clarity, ironic edge, and a deep sensitivity to contemporary realities, particularly those faced by women in transitional societies.
